It’s never too early to apply for admission. Submit your online application. Please be sure to visit our Degree Program Requirements section or Intensive English Program Requirements section for details on what documents are required for admission.

Degree Program Requirements for International Students

The Degree Program is for you if you:

• have previously studied at a school where the language of instruction is English (or)
• have a score of 537 or more on the TOEFL PBT (or)
• have 74 or more on the TOEFL IBT (or)
• have 6.5 or more on the IELTS (no band below 6.0)

Checklist for International Freshman Applicants to the Degree Program

• Admissions application: You are encouraged to complete the Menlo College Freshman Application to fast-track your admissions decision. You are also welcome to apply using the Common Application.
• Application fee: $40
• Personal essay: Please submit a personal essay of at least 250 words addressing your reasons for seeking a college education, expectations of a college education and reasons for applying to Menlo College.
• Official transcripts from your current high school
• Official SAT, ACT, TOEFL or IELTS transcripts (waived for students who have passed English on A-levels, AS levels or Abitur)
• One letter of recommendation (must be from a teacher or counselor)
• Certificate of Finance (must show $64,540 in current account)
• Bank statement or letter on bank letterhead verifying the above claimed amount is on deposit in a current account

Checklist for International Transfer Applicants to the Degree Program

• Admissions application: You are encouraged to complete the Menlo College Transfer Application to fast track your admissions decision. You are also welcome to apply using the Common Application
• Application fee: $40
• Personal essay: Please submit a personal essay of at least 250 words addressing your reasons for seeking a college education, expectations of a college education and reasons for applying to Menlo College.
• Recommendation Letter. Please submit one letter of recommendation from a teacher or a counselor. The letter may be submitted electronically via email to admissions@menlo.edu, faxed to 650.543.4496, or sent by mail.
• Certificate of Finance (must show $65,733 in current account)
• Bank statement or letter on bank letterhead verifying the above claimed amount is on deposit in a current account
• Official TOEFL or IELTS transcripts (waived if student has completed the pre-requisite for the degree level Freshman English Composition with a grade of C- or higher)
• Official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by World Education Services (WES) at www.wes.org.

Intensive English Program Requirements for International Students

The Intensive English Program is for you if you:

• have not previously studied at a school where the language of instruction is English (or)
• have the TOEFL PBT score between 450 and 536 (or)
• have the TOEFL IBT score between 51 and 73 (or)
• have the IELTS score between 5.5 (no band below 5.0) and 6.0 (no band below 5.5)

English proficiency test scores are required to be submitted and all prospective students will be interviewed.

In the IEP, students will have an immersive English learning experience before pursuing a Menlo College degree in business or psychology. Non-degree seeking students may also study English in the IEP.

Checklist for Intensive English Program Applicants

• Admissions application: Complete the Intensive English Program Application.
• Personal essay: Please submit a personal essay of at least 250 words explaining your interests and why you want to study at Menlo College.
• Certificate of Finance (must show $65,733 in current account)
• Bank statement or letter on bank letterhead verifying the above claimed amount is on deposit in a current account
• Copy of passport ID
• Application Fee: $40
• Copy of your current I-20 (if currently studying in the US)
• Copy of current visa (if currently studying in the US)
• Copy of your I-94 card or most recent entry stamp (if currently studying in the US)
